That's right...my mom is engaged! Wohooo! I found out a couple weeks ago, but have been waiting to blog about it until I was sure the word was out.
Mom is marrying John, the man she has been dating for the past couple years. John works for the Salvation Army (or is it the Denver Rescue mission?) in the IT department. He is also going to school at Denver Seminary. He is an amazingly nice man and he compliments my mom so well. I am glad to welcome him into our family. He already feels like part of it.
The wedding is going to be in June. I'm very excited to celebrate their love for one another and the beginning of their life together. I known there are incredible things in store for them.
When mom told me the news, I couldn't hold back my wedding excitement. So, I read a bunch of articles on cute wedding ideas, watched chick flicks, and sifted through youtube wedding videos...
First, Rachel Denbow, one of my sister's close friends in college, created the chalk-board thought bubble. How cute would this be in wedding pictures?
Next, of all the youtube wedding videos I saw, this toast stood out as one of my favorites. This especially reminded me of my mom since she and I love Fiddler on the Roof. It is so sweet the way this groom shouts, "My wife!"
This toast was a close second. : )
Oh, this song. I don't think you can listen to it and not smile. Mom and I must have watched this movie together 20 times. (It's totally not George, mom. Hehe.).
And, finally, this is for my sweet mom, since I know she loves Frank Sinatra.
PS John proposed in a sweet way and totally incorporated Frank Sinatra. Way to go, John!
