Kim and Kyle

Lots of big stuff has happened in the last couple weeks. I finished my first term of nursing school, Piper turned two, we flew to Georgia to visit some of our friends, aaaaaaaand Kyle and Kim got engaged!

Kyle and Bryce have been friends their whole life. Literally. Their parents were friends before either of them were born. Friendships like that are so rare. It's awesome because they have been through so many things together. They played together as little kids, went to the same high school, and went on family vacations together. In this season of life they have shared the ups and downs of the dating lifestyle and preparing for marriage. They are good friends for one another. Kyle is very level headed and even keeled. He and Bryce kind of balance each other out. On top of that Kyle is just an overall good guy and fun to be around.

Also, Kyle is my cousin. Our dads were brothers. That's kind of how Bryce and I met. When I was little, my family would go on vacation to Oregon to visit Kyle's family. While we were there, Bryce would hang out with us. We didn't really know each other, but ten years later Bryce and I decided to go to Multnomah University at the same time. Kyle reintroduced the two of us and that is how we became friends. So, Kyle, we owe you a big thank you.

Kyle has always been a good cousin to me. Although we didn't get to see each other very often growing up, the times we did have together are some of my fondest little kid memories. Now he is a close friend who I still love spending time with.

Kyle started dating Kim about a year ago. Bryce and I met up with them for the first time at McMenamins. We liked Kim right off the bat. She was really funny and comfortable to be around. Over the past year we have gotten to spend a lot of time with her. She has grown into one of our closest friends. She is very transparent and open. She is constantly making me laugh. She is great to talk to and I like to deal with life with her. Also, she is the best with Piper out of all of our friends. She is so good with kids and will make an excellent mom someday. All three of us love her. She's great.

And now we get to celebrate their marriage with them! Bryce is the best man, I am a bridesmaid, and Piper is the flower girl. It is such a privilege to be a part of this special time in their life. We are all rejoicing with them and anxiously anticipating the day when we can stand by them as they start their life together. And as wonderful as that is, we are even more excited about being able to stand by them throughout their lives as friends and encouragers. We are unspeakably grateful for their friendship and are so happy about their decision to be together forever!
